About: At Coker College we insist upon maintaining a low ratio of students to faculty and we recognize the importance of the individual. This is reflected in small class size and an emphasis on individualized attention. Art majors may concentrate in Fine Arts, Graphic/Web Design, Photography, or Art Education. All Art majors are encouraged to take advantage of scholarships to study abroad and participate in professional internships in their area of specialization. My experience as an art major at Coker College has been an exciting journey. I have found an environment that nurtures, as well as promotes my individuality. One of the wonderful things about this college is that you get so much one on one attention because the classes are small and intimate. The well rounded curriculum inspires and feeds the imagination. Not only does the art department challenge students to abandon their comfort zones, but they inspire us to press further than we ever thought we could go. Susan R.
